A brief look at Giacomo's singing history
Giacomo’s Journey
Giacomo is a professional singer, songwriter and musician as well as vocal coach and singing teacher working all across London, Essex and Suffolk (UK). His passion for music began in his teen years in Italy where he started taking singing classes and booking gigs in local clubs and nightlife venues.
After the achievement of his first diploma, he decided to move to London to pursue his creative dreams and nurture his passion for music and teaching. At the completion of a BTEC Diploma in Popular Music Performance at BIMM London, he decided to further his academic studies and take his musical and performance skills to a whole new level through the achievement of a BA Creative Musicianship (Vocals) at University of West London.
While being a full-time student, Giacomo had many opportunities to take his music to various venues in and around London, secure some songwriting commissions and work with local choirs, as well as starting his own independent teaching practice. Right after the completion of his undergraduate studies Giacomo decided to focus on more pedagogical matters.
Keen to expand his knowledge about the art of teaching he applied for a PGCert in Learning and Teaching at University of Sussex which he successfully completed in 2019, providing a new set of teaching skills, research opportunities and general pedagogical development. This academic achievement also allowed him to teach in Further Education and Higher Education settings in which he is extremely successful fulfilling all academic duties.
He is now a very proud and accomplished vocal coach, mentor and educator within the music industry and academic settings. Always working on his own projects (music & pedagogical researches), Giacomo is sure to bring his peppy energy with him to create a welcoming, informative and professional environment to his practice.
Giacomo’s Teaching Practice
Giacomo’s teaching style is vibrant, fresh and very engaging. He features a whole array of different approaches to suit every students’ needs and pays extreme attention to how individuals learn and prefer to approach their studies.
With new students, he follows a meticulous pre-assessment protocol to ensure he has a clear vision of where his students are and what they wish to achieve. He has extensive experience when it comes to building curricula for academic purposes as well as 1-1 personal goals achievement, paying particular attention to assessment criteria and feedback.
After establishing a goal/aim, every session will begin with ‘today’s agenda’ – a carefully tailored lesson plan – which features a recap/check-in, learning objectives, lesson outcomes and how it all ties in to create progress on your own journey. The body and bulk of the session will look different according to the discipline you need help with and the current level of progression you are at, but you can definitely expect a fresh approach to it that will keep you going with a positive attitude. We end with a moment of reflection on achievements, Q&A if needed and setting tasks for your next session and/or general progress.
Being extremely passionate about his teaching, he will deliver lessons that are specifically tailored to the individual and will ensure students and clients constantly receive specific, accessible and measurable feedback. Giacomo believes that empowering students with knowledge, tools and practice regimes will establish a pattern of visible learning and progress ultimately promoting success and independence.
Creativity, individuality and challenge are Giacomo’s main professional values; you can therefore expect his lessons to be very interesting, focused and… feature a good/healthy dose of (supported!) challenge.
